





SAM MASON
Trustee, Accounting & Finance Director
Sam Mason, a founding Trustee of HLP, serves as the group’s treasurer and accounting director. Mason is an Airbus 330 pilot and instructor at Delta Air Lines and serves as an elected member of the board of directors at the Air Line Pilot’s Association, Int’l as Delta Council 48 chairman.He holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, with pilot-in-command type ratings on the A-330, B-737, CE-560XL, DC-9 and EMB-120. He has accumulated over 10,000 hours of logged flying experience and is an FAA certificated flight instructor with qualifications to teach in airplanes, instrument flying, and in gliders. In the wake of September 11, he spent approximately three years working as a full-time financial analyst, including approximately two years at Delta Air Lines in Network Planning (international and charter ops), and a year at Worldspan L.P. in Finance supporting their Global I.T. Products division. Sam is an alumnus of Archbishop Moeller High School near Cincinnati, OH, the University of Cincinnati, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics with a minor in Business Administration. Sam grew up playing sports and retains a passion for ice hockey, baseball, and football. He’s also a music lover and plays the drums. He and his wife Nicole reside in Marietta, GA with a son, daughter, and chocolate lab named Coco.
