Danny De Los Reyes of DayGlow Relief: On the Ground in Puerto Rico again and Making a Difference

Today, H.L.P. is flying the 3rd and 4th relief mission this week. That will be a total of 10 Citation missions in support of Puerto Rico so far! On today's flight, we bring more water purification systems, 2 generators, chainsaws, and more medical supplies. On the way back we have more angel-flight patient transports back to the mainland. Our friends at the Ponce Health Science University have advised us that diapers (child and adult), and Medical supplies were most in demand at the moment. HLP sprung into action and delivered as much as we could fit in the Citation. Even more important than providing relief supplies, providing RELEVANT relief supplies provides the biggest impact for the communities in Puerto Rico.

Today while loading 1,500 lbs of diapers and baby food onto our Citation II, I quickly realized there was going to be 3 palates of cargo that I couldn't fit on the run. I noticed a Shorts 360 freighter on the ramp at OPF taking on a few palates of aid from La Colonia, a Miami area medical center. I approached the group and asked if they could spare any room. On the first mission with Jet Test's Citation II, the team crammed buckets, filters, and a cooler containing desperately needed Insulin into the small jet and delivered the load from Opa Locka FL to Ponce Puerto Rico. The flight took 3 hours, and on the return, two senior citizens were airlifted back to the mainland to reunite with their family. Another Joy Foundation gets into the mix!

Alden Crowley, of Another Joy Foundation out of Las Vegas traveled on the Citation II with Danny, JR, Jaime, and Steve to Ponce to spend the day with Kenira Thompson of the Ponce Health Sciences University.
